Dr. Vladimir Tchouprine is a highly accomplished Senior Specialist Ophthalmologist with more than three decades of experience in advanced eye care and surgery. He holds both an MD and Ph.D. in Medicine from the world-renowned Eye Microsurgery Institute in Moscow, Russia, where he also completed his residency and dissertation research. Since the beginning of his career in 1988, Dr. Vladimir has been recognized as a pioneer in modern ophthalmic procedures, contributing significantly to the advancement of refractive and cataract surgery.

Before joining Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Center, Dubai, in 2024, Dr. Vladimir held senior roles in some of the region’s leading hospitals, including Fakeeh University Hospital, Saudi German Hospital, Al Zahra Hospital, and International Modern Hospital. During his tenure as Head of Ophthalmology Departments in Dubai, he was the first surgeon in the Middle East to successfully perform innovative procedures such as Implantable Collamer Lenses (ICL), corneal rings, and corneal cross-linking. To date, he has performed over 7,000 successful eye surgeries, establishing his reputation as a trusted authority in ophthalmology.

Dr. Vladimir’s clinical expertise covers a wide spectrum of subspecialties, including cataract surgery, refractive surgery, glaucoma management, corneal transplants, and complex microsurgical procedures. At the Eye Microsurgery Institute in Moscow, he introduced groundbreaking surgical techniques, such as simultaneous keratoplasty with cataract and IOL implantation, as well as novel approaches in non-penetrating glaucoma surgery with excimer laser technology. His extensive surgical background also includes managing high-volume operations—over 250–300 daily—while leading large teams of medical professionals.
