Dr. Basil Al Sharef is a German- and Swiss-board-certified Senior Consultant Spine & Scoliosis Surgeon with over 20 years of international experience spanning Germany, Switzerland, and Dubai. He earned his medical degree from the Christian-Albrecht University of Kiel, Germany, and completed his specialist training at renowned institutions including Karlsbad Langensteinbach, University Hospital Aachen, and Neustadt in Holstein.

Before joining Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Center, Dr. Basil held consultant and senior consultant roles at leading spine surgery institutes in Europe. Since relocating to the UAE in 2019, he has played an integral role in advancing spinal care, holding leadership positions in prominent Dubai medical centers.

Dr. Basil specializes in the comprehensive management of spinal disorders in both adults and children. His areas of expertise include spinal deformity correction (scoliosis, kyphosis, spondylolisthesis), complex reconstructive and revision spine surgery, decompression and stabilization procedures, spinal tumor and trauma management, as well as minimally invasive techniques such as microdiscectomy and vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty.

Fluent in German, English, and Arabic, and licensed in Germany, Switzerland, and the UAE, Dr. Basil Al Sharef combines advanced surgical expertise with compassionate, patient-focused care.
